Good golly, I’m excited. I’m going to Laguna Beach tomorrow for the Oprah’s OWN show open call audition. There will be a beach there. And a pool. And sun. It will be warm. It will be fun. Here’s the video I submitted for “Everyday Fitness Adventures with Julie!” You can vote over and over and over!

So the plan is, I fly down to LAX Friday a.m., then drive to Laguna. Then hang out. All afternoon. This is the part that sounds divine to me, especially since it’s been about 40-50 degrees and raining in Bend for weeks. I need a vacation from my resort town!

On Saturday, I have to get up at 5:00 a.m. to stand in line  at the Kohl’s store with the other 10,000 people who want a shot at fame and fortune and their very own Oprah moment. Or, career.

So, if I jump through all the hoops correctly and Jesus loves me, I’ll get a call back the next day and meet the producers for a screen test. If not, I’ll continue being a Secular Humanist/Budding Buddhist/Die-hard Lutheran, like usual, and goof off all day Sunday at Laguna beach and maybe drive to Melrose Place and have lunch with Amanda, Jake and maybe…Billy. *sigh. A girl can hope.

So, the real question is, what does a middle aged mom from Bend, Oregon wear to an Oprah Audition? I have no idea. I went shopping with Sissy yesterday to try to figure it out. Here’s the video:

Stay tuned for updates throughout the weekend. I’m especially excited to interview as many fun characters as I can find, standing in line, about wacky things they do for exercise. Or maybe a pool boy. Or a surfer dude. We’ll just have to see what happens, won’t we?
