When Sarah over at IronGirl called me to ask if I’d be interested in a sponsorship to their Portland, OR Sprint Triathlon in June, I laughed. My running coach, Robin, over at Every Mom to Iron Mom has been telling me it’s time for me to do a Sprint, but I keep whining about not being the triathlete type.
“You’re training for a half marathon, you swim for 45 minutes a shot, and you do know how to ride a bike, right?” she smirked. “What part of you isn’t the type?”
The confident part, I guess. Time to get over myself and go for it.
“Yes,” I told Sarah, “I’ll do it.”
And now I’m excited.
Also, I’m thrilled that she’s sending me a cute wetsuit from Aquasphere, which I think looks amazingly cool on the headless mannequin in the picture, but I’m not sure how it will look on me.
Despite losing 20 pounds since I started the Paleo diet back in February, I’m still a little self-conscious about all the form fitting, no place to hide my body wetsuit. So I called Mandy over at Just Breathe Everybody, my favorite yoga/pilates/dance studio and asked her to help me in my quest to tone up the middle-aged angst around my core.
“Yes,” she said, “I am so down for this! Come on over!”
And so it begins.
Disclosure – IronGirl.com and Just Breathe Everybody are officially sponsoring this blog for the duration of this @juliejulie does a Sprint Tri project. Let me know if your company wants in on the fun. Think of the possibilities!
