If you spend much time running in Eugene, Oregon, the track capital of the world, you’ll eventually get wet. Yeah, it rains here. A lot. In fact, today is July 16th, and it’s gray and rainy right this very moment.
So, what’s a fair-weather runner to do? Get used to it. Wear a hat. Stop whining. Try, not cry. And think about the hot shower waiting for you at home, after a cool, puddle splashing, endorphin- inducing 6 miler.
I know some of you who live in hot, muggy climates where it’s 90 degrees and soupy at 9:00 a.m. have no patience for those of us who whine about 65 degrees, a few raindrops and a slight breeze. Sorry. I don’t think I’d trade places with you today!
